Terms of Use

Last updated 19 September 2026

Deckon can do anything you can do at your keyboard. These terms set out what that means, what a paired phone is allowed to do, and where the sharp edges are.

What Deckon does

Deckon turns a phone into a control surface for a computer. You build a deck of keys in the desktop app; a paired phone presses them. Each press asks that computer to perform the action you assigned to that key — a keyboard shortcut, launching an application, opening a web address, a media key, a screenshot, typing stored text, or, if you switch it on, a shell command.

Because a key does whatever you assign to it, Deckon can do anything you can do at that keyboard. Treat a paired phone as you would treat the keyboard itself.

Pairing and access

Pairing is a one-time exchange on your local network. The computer displays a short code; a phone that presents it is issued a long random token, and only a hash of that token is stored on the computer. Nothing about pairing passes through a server we operate.

Any phone holding a valid token can press any key on your deck for as long as it remains paired. You can revoke a phone at any time in the desktop app’s settings, which invalidates its token immediately.

Anyone with sight of the pairing code during the few minutes it is displayed can pair a device. Do not display it to people you would not hand your keyboard to.

Shell keys

Keys that run shell commands are disabled until you enable them. Enabling them means a paired phone can run those specific commands on your computer with your user account’s privileges.

This is the most powerful capability in the software. Enable it only if you wrote the commands and you control every phone that is paired.

Permissions

On macOS, sending keystrokes requires Accessibility permission and screenshots require Screen Recording. Reading what is currently playing asks your browser or media player through the system automation interfaces. Deckon requests these only when a key needs them, and a key missing a permission tells you so rather than failing silently.

On Windows, keystrokes are sent through the standard input APIs. On Linux, they go through tools already installed on your system.

Smart Decks subscription

Deckon is free. Smart Decks is an optional paid feature, sold as a monthly or yearly subscription through our payment processor, Razorpay. Prices are in Indian rupees and are shown before you pay. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price it started at, until you cancel it.

When you subscribe you receive a licence key. It is personal to you: use it on computers you own or use yourself, and do not share or resell it. Sharing a key, or using one that was not issued to you, may lead to it being revoked.

You can cancel at any time from the desktop app or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next charge, and Smart Decks keeps working until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are covered by our Cancellation and Refunds policy at deck.hangon.live/refunds.

If you subscribe through a friend’s referral link, you and they may each receive cashback as described on the Smart Decks page when you subscribe. We may end or change the referral programme for new referrals at any time, and may withhold cashback from referrals that are self-referrals or otherwise abuse it.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what your keys do and for who you pair with. Use Deckon only on networks and computers you are entitled to use, and only for lawful purposes.

Do not use Deckon to gain access to a machine you do not control, to interfere with anyone else’s system, or to circumvent any security control.

Availability and warranty

Deckon is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

A control surface can misfire. Do not rely on Deckon where a missed or mistimed key press would cause harm, loss or danger.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HangOn int. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit or opportunity, arising from your use of Deckon.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith discussion; write to legal@hangon.live.

Changes

These terms may be updated. When they change materially, the desktop app will ask you to read and accept the new version before you continue. Continuing to use Deckon after accepting means you agree to the version you accepted.
